How did you get here? You may know or you may be confused but now you are here and you should look around. Maybe you can even find a passage to one of the other realms from here. You may run into a friend or a foe or meet strangers - or you may even run into some other version of yourself...

"Unless there is something else I do not know then I am already well past that...."

"You are? You've- already invaded Earth? Then why are you- out here? Sif made it sound like you were imprisoned the whole time until-" And she cuts herself off again and what color's left in her face drains. Now the other shoe's going to drop...

"Until my death?" He looks amused now. "Is your Loki so very far behind...? I have been through all of that. This place... is special."

[girlfriend_beyond]

She gets a confused look on her face, which is at least an improvement over shock. "I guess so...? He's not the most open about his experiences."

She shifts from foot to foot. "So... if you died, then how are you here?"

[tricksandmischief]

"Perhaps this is my wishful thinking of how the land of the dead should look... Although, with a few less random mortals such as yourself appearing..."

This Asgard is oddly deserted though, and Heimdall is obviously not doing his job very well, if all of these random Midgardian visitors were anything to go by.

"Is it worth it?" An honest question out of concern for his peace of mind.

Then she gives him another weird look. "Random mortals? Does that mean I'm not the only one? But how did the others get here..."

"I do not know... and most I have recognised," he regarded her. "Except for you."

He then frowned slightly. "What do you mean? Is what worth it?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

"I have no idea how the others got here, either- and if you recognize them, then I probably wouldn't. The you I know doesn't have too many familiar faces where we are. Just Sif and Jane Foster." She gave him an apologetic shrug.

"I guess I mean... is it worth everything you went through in life, for this to be your afterlife?"

He spread his arms out and affected a pleased grin. "What? I have Asgard all to myself and can do whatever I want here, speaking to those that appear and entertaining myself with no real restrictions. Isn't that a grand reward?"

But he looks troubled as he finishes speaking and glances away. It's not quite right here and he knows it. It's not satisfying to pretty much have the run of the place. Not when so few people are around.

Dana looked around as well and gave him a smile in return. "Much better than being stuck in the dungeons, at least." She gave a small giggle, but couldn't help thinking that the Loki she knew was still better off, a thought that probably showed on her face.

He sobered more at that.

"That much is true, and at times I do get to go to other places. I just... do not always know when that will happen."

[girlfriend_beyond]

"I hope you get to go out to other places a lot, then."

She tilted her head and offered a hand. "I don't know if I can come back, since I ended up in this Asgard by mistake... But I can stay here for now, if you want the company."

He looked at her hand as if not sure what to do with it. It would have been a bit too familiar to take it and he wasn't much in the mood for prefect manners.

"Your company would not be unwelcome," he said a little stiffly, unsure of her motives.

She withdrew her hand after a moment when it became clear he wasn't going to take it. Her mistake, still thinking of what the Loki she knew would do.

"I'll stay, then, if I'm not unwelcome. Do you want to show me around? Or just talk? Or something else entirely?"

"We can walk... If you have not been here before, you may have questions."

[girlfriend_beyond]

She shook her head. "I haven't been to any Asgard. Just seen some buildings the Loki I know built in the city." She looked around. "Where do you live?"

[tricksandmischief]

"I live in the palace, of course... Unless you are specifically asking to see my rooms," he seemed more amused at that. Maybe relaxing a little more.

[girlfriend_beyond]

"Well... I was thinking of comparing it to where he lives. But I don't need to see your rooms if you'd rather they stay private." She gave him a sidelong look and a smile. "Just the outside of the palace is fine."

"Can you describe what you have seen of his rooms?"

And he began walking down the corridor, expecting her to follow.
