"Oh? Did I invite you?" He sounded skeptical but also vaguely interested.

[girlfriend_beyond]

She shrugs. "Not exactly, but you didn't stop me or really discourage me from coming. The you I know," she adds hastily. This could get confusing.

"And this... other me. What are you to him?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

"I'm- I couldn't say exactly. He- you- are a hard person to judge. I'd call him a friend, I don't know if he'd say the same, but I think he likes me pretty well." Perhaps not the best way to describe it to get this Loki to listen to her, but it's closer to the truth. She knows she won't be able to fool him with a lie or even stretching the truth.

"A friend? And what did you do to earn such a friendship?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

"I've helped him, with problems, or tried. And I'd call him a friend because he's done favors for me, and been pretty polite and nice."

[tricksandmischief]

He chuckles slightly. "When necessary..."

[girlfriend_beyond]

She rolls her eyes, but her lip quirks up as well. "Yeah, I've figured out that you- he- aren't always the nicest. But I don't think you're all that bad, really. When being a dreg isn't necessary."

[tricksandmischief]

"I am never bad. I simply have an agenda that not everybody agrees with."

[girlfriend_beyond]

"If you want to think of it that way. In my personal experience with the you in Nautilus, your agenda isn't one that many disagree with. I don't know whether that's because we're different, or that you is different, but it's worked out well all around."

"And what is my agenda there?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

She shrugs, again. "Ascend, probably. Get goodwill. Have a place and not have to go back to imp-" She cuts herself off and blanches

He frowns. "What were you about to say?" He pauses, then considers, "Imprisonment..?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

She sighs and slumps in defeat. "Yes. That. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news."

[tricksandmischief]

"Unless there is something else I do not know then I am already well past that...."

[girlfriend_beyond]

"You are? You've- already invaded Earth? Then why are you- out here? Sif made it sound like you were imprisoned the whole time until-" And she cuts herself off again and what color's left in her face drains. Now the other shoe's going to drop...

[tricksandmischief]

"Until my death?" He looks amused now. "Is your Loki so very far behind...? I have been through all of that. This place... is special."

[girlfriend_beyond]

She gets a confused look on her face, which is at least an improvement over shock. "I guess so...? He's not the most open about his experiences."

She shifts from foot to foot. "So... if you died, then how are you here?"

[tricksandmischief]

"Perhaps this is my wishful thinking of how the land of the dead should look... Although, with a few less random mortals such as yourself appearing..."

This Asgard is oddly deserted though, and Heimdall is obviously not doing his job very well, if all of these random Midgardian visitors were anything to go by.

[girlfriend_beyond]

"Is it worth it?" An honest question out of concern for his peace of mind.

Then she gives him another weird look. "Random mortals? Does that mean I'm not the only one? But how did the others get here..."

[tricksandmischief]

"I do not know... and most I have recognised," he regarded her. "Except for you."

He then frowned slightly. "What do you mean? Is what worth it?"

[girlfriend_beyond]

"I have no idea how the others got here, either- and if you recognize them, then I probably wouldn't. The you I know doesn't have too many familiar faces where we are. Just Sif and Jane Foster." She gave him an apologetic shrug.

"I guess I mean... is it worth everything you went through in life, for this to be your afterlife?"

[tricksandmischief]

He spread his arms out and affected a pleased grin. "What? I have Asgard all to myself and can do whatever I want here, speaking to those that appear and entertaining myself with no real restrictions. Isn't that a grand reward?"

But he looks troubled as he finishes speaking and glances away. It's not quite right here and he knows it. It's not satisfying to pretty much have the run of the place. Not when so few people are around.

Dana looked around as well and gave him a smile in return. "Much better than being stuck in the dungeons, at least." She gave a small giggle, but couldn't help thinking that the Loki she knew was still better off, a thought that probably showed on her face.

He sobered more at that.

"That much is true, and at times I do get to go to other places. I just... do not always know when that will happen."
